Marukyo Chardonnay Pétillant 2024

Price: ¥2,500
White slightly sparkling wine, 750ml, crown cap, 10.8% alc, Chardonnay from Iga City, Mie Prefecture, natural fermentation, chaptalization, no added sulfites This wine uses Chardonnay cultivated in Iga City, Mie Prefecture, by Marukyo Farm, a grape farmer from Kawai Town, Nara Prefecture. There was a typhoon forecast at harvest time, but we decided to wait until after the typhoon passed before harvesting. As a result, the typhoon's impact was not significant, and we were able to obtain grapes with slightly higher ripeness. After fermenting like a normal white wine, completing the fermentation, lightly decanting the lees, chaptalizing, and then bottling. Aromas of white flowers, pear, apple, and yogurt, typical of Chardonnay. As expected from a pure Vitis vinifera, the finish is slightly longer compared to other pét-nats. The effervescence is not yet fully complete, and a slight sweetness remains (2024/11/14). Pairs well with Caprese salad, etc.
